Jr Shooters Win Second National Qualifier

The Pierre Jr Shooters participated in the National Wild Turkey Federation State BB Gun Match held on March 28 in Pierre at Riggs High gym. Teams participating included Brule Co, Douglas Co, Highmore, Humboldt, Kirley, Lake Co, Marshall Co, Pierre and Spink Co. The Pierre team had already qualified last week for the Daisy National BB Gun Championships to be held July 3-5 in Rogers, Arkansas. This will be the eleventh consecutive year for coaches John Forman and Gene Garber, and the 12th consecutive for the Pierre Junior Shooters. During that time, the Pierre team has won six national championships.

 Individual BB Gun results in the 8-9 yr old division:

Jasmine Hays - seventh - prone; ninth - standing.

Alayna Kliewer - second - standing; overall seventh.

Jenna Kruger - third - sitting.

Tyler Payer - eighth - sitting; seventh - kneeling.

Riley Pfeifer - tenth - sitting.

Jazzlyn Rombough - eighth - standing; fifth - sitting.

Megan Rose - sixth - prone.

Emmit Steeneck - ninth - sitting; overall tenth.

10-11 yr old division:

Rylie Stoeser - first - kneeling.

12-15 yr old division:

Jacob Beastrom - 96 on test.

Adam Forman - 94 on test; fifth - prone; second - kneeling; overall tenth.

Ryan Habeck - 96 on test; second - prone; first - standing; first - sitting; fourth - kneeling; overall first.

Trevor Habeck - ninth - prone.

Justin Merriman - 94 on test; sixth - standing; ninth - sitting; seventh - kneeling; overall fifth.

Natalie Mohr - 90 on test.

Wyatt Rose - 94 on test; ninth - kneeling.

Nathan Schnabel - 94 on test.

Zane Schuchard - 98 on test; seventh - prone.

Alee Smith - 96 on test; fifth - standing.


Team Results:

8-9 yr old division - Third Place (Jasmine Hays, Alayna Kliewer, Jenna Kruger, Riley Pfeifer and Jazzlyn Rombough); 12-15 yr old division - First Place ( Adam Forman, Justin Merriman, Natalie Mohr, Wyatt Rose and Zane Schuchard)

 21 Champion - Keith Gorham was on the winning team out of 16 teams to score consistently closest to 21 in a shootoff.
